Missing installation profiles, customization options?

#1

Hey everyone,

I see that new Pimcore versions come with a CLI installation tool. Is the functionality of old install-profiles retained? I couldn’t find anything concerning this in the documentation and haven’t had the time to go through the code yet.

I’d like to be able to set up a few basic documents and classes, change a few settings (languages, mostly), add some templates and then use the result as a starting point for a few of my projects.

Is this possible still? Thanks!

no its not. either use a custom skeleton like this: https://github.com/dpfaffenbauer/pimcore-skeleton or create a bundle to install things

Thank you for the link, I’ll check it out. A specialized bundle is a neat idea too, I am however still unclear on how to change the Pimcore settings (i.e. things that get stored in the database).

I guess I could run a few SQL queries / write a migration to switch up the languages and other settings and then generate the documents / objects I need automatically, in an “install” command of sorts. Would that work?

yep, would work as well.

hi,
or you provide a dump in your installation profile … like we do it with our demo applikations, e.g. here https://github.com/pimcore/demo-basic/tree/master/dump
